Oriflame’s Giordani Gold CC Cream SPF 35 - Review

My everyday makeup includes BB or CC cream, eye makeup and lipstick. Obviously the routine changes depending on my mood, and how late I am for work. BB creams have been my favorite, for the longest time I have been using Maybelline’s BB cream (Link: ) and I loved it.

Recently, I made a switch and used a CC Cream by Lakme (Link: ), honestly, don’t even try this one out. It makes your skin dry, it is difficult to apply and makes your face look patchy. It also made my face oily after a few hours and I had to blot my face at regular intervals.

I then tried out Oriflame’s  Giordani Gold CC Cream SPF 35– it is fabulous!
It is light on your face and you don’t even feel like you have it on. It gives a medium coverage and is perfect if you are trying to attempt the no-makeup-makeup look. It will not completely hide your blemishes or acne completely but will give you a super natural look.  It additionally also has SPF 35, which makes it perfect for daily wear.

It comes in a simple tube which makes it easy to store and apply. I directly apply it on my face and then blend it in.

Since it comes in a tube, I apply it directly on my face and then blend it in with my fingers. The formula is so nice that you don’t even need a blender or a brush to blend it in, your fingers can do the magic. I like that you don’t have to force blend it, it is easy and does its job quickly without you pulling or tugging your skin.

What I Feel
I love the way it makes my skin look, it gives me minimal coverage with a slight glow. The feel of it is completely natural thus you wouldn’t feel like you have something on your skin all the time. It doesn’t make your face ashy or patchy or oily. I actually feel that does a little bit of oil control, so at times if I just touch up my face with a little bit of compact on my T-zone and under my eyes, and I am done!

It retails for INR 999/- for 40ml on Oriflame’s website, here:

I understand that it can be a little pricey, but trust me it is worth the money. Also you really need only a small amount of product everyday thus making the tube last for a long time.
You can also buy from other websites here:

Chickoo Tree Project, South Goa - Review

A quaint little place in South Goa which makes you feel at home the minute you enter. The interesting thing about this place is that, it not only offers food but also other activities. They organise fun events and arrange for live band to perform making the place dynamic. Every time you enter the place, you might just find something fun happening here.

The owner is really sweet and chatty, we were invited there and she shared stories about how they started the place and what they plan on doing etc over lunch.

Coming to the food, she has kept it really simple yet innovative and yum. She has given a twist to the traditional dishes that she has grown up eating, so you can find Raagi Dosa with an interesting filling here.

We ate a couple of dishes here and they were super yum. Their Ginger ale was just the thing I needed on a hot summer afternoon.

Constant battle

Why is life a constant battle? Why is it that when something is right, something else has to go wrong. Actually, it feels like these days everything goes wrong at the same time and then it is a constant struggle to fight back the tears.

I am a kind of a person who can cry easily, my eye tear up in a minute and there is no holding back once they appear. It does at times make me look like a week person, but there is nothing really I can do about it.

I believe these mid-20s is a difficult phase, you not only have to worry about getting done with your academics, but finding the right job and if you already have one then you are worrying about how to climb the corporate ladder, you are not even settled in your professional setup and you have to worry about getting married – that is another ball game altogether – find a guy, fit into his family, figure out if your future plans match, etc. etc. the list is never ending. And if for some alien reason, you are one of those girls who likes to lead her life her way, then god save you. You have deal with parents, men, society pressure everything just to make them understand that your terms are not wrong, they are just different.

Everyone advices you to be a strong, independent woman but actually I think I am done being the strong, independent woman.  Because I understand that strong, independent woman also do have their bad times, and where are we supposed to go that time? Who are we supposed to look at for comfort?

Planet Hollywood, Goa – Review | Luxury Beach Resorts and 5 Star Hotel in South Goa

If you are looking for a chill luxurious holiday then Planet Hollywood in South Goa is just the place for you.  I went there around two weeks back for a quick weekend away, and I am so glad that I did. I love weekends away and holidays, and I love them more so when they are the right mix of luxury and chill. If I had to talk about one best thing about Planet Hollywood then it would be their hospitality.
The staff was really nice and they make you feel special the minute you walk in. We got very late, and reached way past the check-in time I had informed them. They were worried about when we walk in because they wanted to set up the food and other amenities in the room. We were driving down from Mumbai and lost our way a little before Goa ( blog post on the same would be up soon) they were kind enough to call and check up on us at regular intervals.

The minute we walked it, Ranveer was ready at the gate to welcome us. The fact that he addressed me by my name added the personal touch which I love. Understanding that we were very tired, they showed us our room immediately. He asked us when we would like to have dinner, and we told him to give us around 2 hours to relax.

The dinner was arranged at the Presidential Villa, the Presidential Villa is open only for a select few.  It makes more sense to book the villa when you are heading here with a large family. The interior here is done by Gauri Khan, that woman does have elegance which is reflected in the villa.
As I was talking about hospitality, they had curated a mean for us and the menu had my name written on it. These small little personal touches is what makes this place special.

The room
The room is stunning, the bed is comfortable, the bathroom is clean and cozy, the balcony which oversees the pool was inviting,  they have a small little chair and recliner in the balcony to curl up on at nights. We had a few canapés and alcohol, along with the tea coffee and a kettle ready for us in the room. They also had a digital photo-frame with my pictures on it, really like the personal touch here. That’s not all, they also had a wine bottle with my name on it! The star element was the leg massager in the room, since we were so tired, we immediately took turns to massage our legs, it really helped!
The room is very comfortable and clean, the housekeeping staff is on their toes all the time and you won’t find a reason to complain when it comes to cleanliness. The bed is soft and cozy, they have satin pillows and bed sheets which does make you feel like a royalty. The washroom supplies also were from Kama Ayurveda, thus I was glad that my hair is not going to go for a toss as it is a trusted brand that I have used in the past.

Other Amenities
The resort has something for everyone, not very big but aesthetically spread out. They have a Spa, Gym, Play Area, Bar and the Swimming Pool. They also have two restaurants — Planet Dailies and Fame. The regular Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner buffet happens at Planet Dailies while you’ll find the A La Carte menu at Fame. We tried both the places and they have yummy food, the breakfast and meal spread is fabulous and they have something for everyone.  We only had dinner once at Fame but again it was really yummy. We tried their Sushi platter, and if you go here and happen to like Sushi then you should eat here, the Sushi here is amazing!

I also tried their Spa, the tired me really needed that. I opted for their Hot Lava Stone Full Body Massage. The massage lasted for around two hours, and it is my personal belief that I dozed off during the massage. It was so relaxing and calming. They have 5 massage rooms and offer a number of massage options, I am sure you’ll find the one which is right for you here. The masseuse was kind and always took care of my comfort first. She started off with a quick foot scrub and then moved on to the massage. The therapy rooms are clean, spacious and calming. The ambient lighting, room temperature and the music which was playing in the background all collaborated to calm and relax you.

If you are not a massage person then maybe you can check out the gym. They have a fully functional gym so you don’t miss out on your workout. They also have an instructor there in case you need any assistance.

The pool opens up early in the morning and is open till late evening; you can go in for a quick dip whenever you please. When I was there, it was raining thus making the pool look all the more inviting. The beach is also a two minute walk away; if you walk fast it is a minute away. You can directly go to the beach right from the resort.

They have a children’s play area as well. They also have a small little organic garden and the horticulture specialist will be more than happy to take you on a short tour of the garden. They have tons of herbs and vegetables which they grow right there in the resort. The horticulture specialist informed us about a number of herbs and plants and how to use them in our daily lives. We also had coconut water from two huge coconuts – one green and the other one was red.

The Picnic

I don’t even remember the last time I went on a proper actual picnic. They were more than happy to show us around a little bit, they suggested that we go for a cycle ride and to the museum and to the Three Kings Church. The cycle ride didn’t happen because it was raining that day, I was not very kicked about the Museum because I have been there as a child but the Three Kings Church was what I was looking forward to. The church which is rumoured to be haunted is on top of a small hill. The place is cordoned off but people still do skip the closed gate and go to the church. There were not many people there when we went, we took a few pictures and boomerangs. The view from the top is beautiful, you can see the sea on one side and the paddy fields on the other. The chef at Planet Hollywood had packed us a picnic basket and it was so nice to sit there and have tea and cake. We also had fruits, sandwiches and samosas!

Like honestly, they didn’t really have to go out of their way to make my holiday interesting but they did! And I really appreciate that. People take days off and go somewhere to get away from their mundane routine and city life, gestures like these really do touch people. I am going to remember that picnic for a long time now, and every time someone asks me for recommendations, this place will be amongst the first that ill name.

RichFeel Brahmi Hair Pack - Review

I recently tried out Richfeel’s Brahmi Hair Pack. I love using products that have natural ingredients, this hair pack has Brahmi, Amla, Kapoor Kahari powder along with Glycerine and some other products. The product claims to helps nourish, moisturise and condition hair.

I have dry, frizzy, and difficult to manage curly hair and I honestly didn’t have much high expectation from this product. I generally don’t have high expectations from any hair products because I know that my hair is difficult.

However, I was pleasantly surprised by how this product works. It doesn’t work miraculously and won’t immediately change the nature of your hair but it definitely does make a noticeable change.
I used it once in two weeks and it did make my hair softer and a little less frizzy.  I generally oil my hair at night and wash it off in the morning. When using this hair mask, I skipped oiling in the night and just used the hair pack in the morning and washed it off after 20minutes. I love what it does to my hair.

The hair pack has a pleasant smell and a nice texture. I especially don’t like products that don’t smell good as it makes me not want to use it; this however made me want to use it.

International Bartending Competition

Diageo Reserve World Class brought together 12 mixologists from India’s leading hotels and bars to compete for the title of India’s Bartender of the Year at Diageo Reserve World Class 2017. World Class is a platform that nurtures local bartending talent by enabling the participants with relevant knowledge and skill to create World Class cocktails. Now in its 9th year in India, the competition brought together nearly 300 bartenders to compete for the title.

Over the last six months, a number of mixologists from all over the nation competed with each other at various regional level competition to finally make it in the finals the completion was judged by  Donald Colville, Diageo Global Scotch Ambassador – Malts, Nicholas Ord, Diageo Reserve Brand Ambassador and Nikhil Agarwal, Sommelier & CEO, All Things Nice.

The finalists had to come up with their versions of the classic cocktails using the luxury spirits from the Diageo Reserve portfolio namely Johnnie Walker Blue Label, Johnnie Walker Gold Label Reserve, Johnnie Walker Platinum Label 18, Talisker 10YO, the Singleton of Glen Ord 12YO, Tanqueray 10, CÎROC and Ketel One. There were three rounds in total, they included - The Blind Tasting Round, The Speed Round and The Mystery Box Round.  Rohan Rege, Paasha, JW Marriott, Pune won the competition and will now head to Mexico to compete in the international finals.

The final was held at St. Regis in Mumbai. The competition started in the morning and went on till the evening.  With the first contestant itself I knew that I was in for a treat. The gusto and the enthusiasm of each contestant intrigued me and I didn’t leave the bar counter even for a second. The first round consisted of them stirring up two drinks in ten minutes. Each one of them had come up with a unique twist to the drink, and the homemade ingredients created by the contestants made the drinks even better. It is always a delight to see someone own a drink in such a special way. Out of the 12 finalists, six moved on the next round.

The second round was the most exciting one and my favorite. Check out the video below to experience what I am talking about.

The six finalists had to stir up eight drinks in six minutes. The rush, excitement, thrill was amazing! It was not just the contestants who were nervous and trying to get everything right and in time but also us, the viewers who were on the edge of our seats.

The third round was the mystery box round, where the top three had to come up with two drinks using the ingredients in the box and one of their signature drink. Again! They did a marvelous job! They even used Carrot and Jamun juice in the drinks; I would have never thought that ingredients like these could be used to mix such delicious cocktails.

Rohan Rege from Paasha – JW Marriott, Pune emerges as the winner. He impressed the judges with his knowledge, skill and creativity as he effortlessly created some amazing drinks.

The mixologists, I must say are very interactive and can chat you up in no time. The confidence that they have is charming and the way they show their skills in a bar is stunning.

I was there the whole day watching it from the start to end, and never once did I get bored. (I wish there were more chairs around the bar though, my heels were killing me)

The Global Finals for Diageo Reserve World Class will take place in Mexico City later this year, and I am excited for Rohan Rege, hope he wins!
